Welcome to Nurse Gemma.
April 23, 2020
We are delighted to introduce our new
Nurse, Gemma Haefele. Gemma has had an induction like no other during lockdown
but has already risen to the challenges of juggling PPE, scarce flu
vaccinations and taking on her role as Nurse Team Leader. Gemma is already a
Nurse Prescriber, which means that she can safely prescribe a large list of
medications. Medplus is keen to have nurses operating at the very top of their
scope and we look forward to Gemma running a variety of clinics, including
blood pressure, contraception, asthma, diabetes, UTI and sore throat
management, and her particular speciality, eczema. Please give Gemma a warm
welcome when you meet her. Here is her introduction to you: -
"My name is Gemma Haefele. I completed my Bachelor of Nursing at Massey University in Albany and have since gone on to qualify as a Registered Nurse Designated Prescriber. I plan to continue on to do my Nurse Practitioner training next year in order to complete my Masters degree. I have always loved working in Primary Health Care, having always worked in a General Practice. Outside of work, I enjoy running and cycling and have done a number of half marathons. I enjoy baking, trying new recipes and I love music."
