Kua tae mai te wā köanga! (Spring is upon us)
Kei te puawai ngā putiputi (flowers are blossoming), ka koekoe ngā Tuī, ka ketekete ngā tītapu, ka kukū ngā kererū (describes the singing of the tūī, kererū and bellbird).
Kapohia ngā taonga o te whenua, o te rangi, o te marama kia poipoia te tinana o te tangata. (Grasp the gifts of the land, sky and the season to nourish/nurture the human body).
Kia Kaha. Kia Maia. Kia Manawanui. (be strong, be brave, be steadfast).
